The Viselkovsko-Kubanskiy license block of "ZAAB Invest" geographically covers the territories of Korenovskiy, Vyselkovskiy and Ust-Labinskiy districts of Krasnodar Territory. The area of Vyselkovsko-Kubanskiy block is 1141 sq km. According to geophysical and geological investigations the gross interval of hydrocarbon resources in it is from 1,800 up to 5,200 m.
The block has a well-developed infrastructure. Besides the asphalted autoroads within the block, in its northern and southern parts there are railways namely Tihoretsk - Krasnodar and Kropotkin – Krasnodar.
There is an efficient supply of power through two power supply lines of 110 kw and 220 kw that run through the block. Long-distance pipelines also pass through or are in close proximity to the block, these are CPC (Caspian pipeline consortium), 1020 mm, Tihoretsk - Novorossisk, 530 mm, Tihoretsk - Tuapse, 530 mm and the main gas pipelines of Goluboy potok, 1420 mm, Timashevsk - Maikop, 720 mm,and Berzanskoe - Nekrasovskoe – (one line is 720 mm and another one is 1020 mm). The nearest export port is Novorossisk (180 km).
Oil and gas have been produced in Kuban for more than 150 years. The oil recovery in the region is one of the highest in Russia and constitutes 0,45. Nowadays the annual oil production in Krasnodar Territory is 3,5 mln t and gas production is 4,5 bln cu m. It is notable that the daily oil production per well in recently discovered fields in Kuban reach 450 tons («Chumakovskaya-1», “Rosneft”). This clearly indicates the potential for vast undiscovered oil reserves in Krasnodar territory.
Relatively recent Geo-science data (seismic prospecting, gravity and magnetic exploration, well survey) collated on the block and adjacent territories were analysed by the geological unit of LLC «ZAAB Invest» together with LLC “Krasnodarneftegeophisica”. This has resulted in a positive conclusion about the prospects of oil and gas bearing capacity of Jurassic and Triassic formations, especially in the East-Kuban basin margin.
Initial in-place oil reserves in the Vyselkovo-Kubanskiy block under C3 category are 102,92 mln tones, recoverable reserves are 51,45 mln t. Initial recoverable gas reserves under С3 category are more than 23 bln cu m.
